Every year we go to Grandma’s house and color eggs. Nothing fancy, just your good old fashion PAAS coloring kit and some markers and stickers. The kids didn’t touch the stickers this year, instead preferring to add personality with just the markers and some creativity.
For my daughter this year, it was all about her “signature flowers”, as she referred to them.
My son on the other hand gave each egg it’s own identity. There are some cute ones, like a frog, a chick and a bunny. Some odd ones, like an alien, a purple people eater and a jack-o-lantern. Then there are some kind of scary ones, like a vampire and a bat. Not your traditional Easter icons, but creative none-the-less.
I’ve tried getting the kids to try something different like these lacy eggs orĀ these silk tie eggs, but they aren’t interested. I can’t blame them, even though those techniques produce very beautiful results, there is nothing like coloring your egg to the perfect shade and then adding your own personal touch to make each egg it’s own little work of art.

So this year I got egg duty. Fine – made the eggs, got creative & decorated them, but shortly after had to send out an egg recall. Apparently I wasn’t thinking when I decided to decorate them with nail polish…lol. Don’t get me wrong, they looked nice, but um, yeh…the nail polish pretty much went through the shell and into the egg. Whoopsie daisies! Thank God I only painted 5. lol
