My daughter has been dancing since the age of three. This past weekend she turned 14. One of the many gifts she received was a book called, “The Dancer’s Book of Ballet Crafts”, by Christina Aleta Haskin.
I highly recommend this book if you have a ballerina in your life. Most of the projects are simple enough for even a beginner.
From this pretty little embroidered shoe bag…
…to this sweet beaded crochet bun cover.
If your looking for more of a challenge, there is this beautiful beaded ballet skirt…
or this pretty in pink wrap. (My daughter already has her order in for this one)
However, if you really want to impress all the other ballet moms at rehearsal, you could knit this stunning warm-up outfit. The pants would be perfect for yoga. Maybe I’ll have to work on my knitting skills a bit and give this one a try.
This book is more than just a craft book. It includes some history of ballet, a personal journal and is filled with beautiful famous quotes. My favorite,
“The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without the work.”, Emily Zola.
